Filipino, Nordic artists come together for contemporary dance festival


NORDLYS/P-NOiSE Contemporary Dance edition brings together Nordic and Filipino artists in a showcase of contemporary dance and performance art in the urban landscape of Manila.
This year’s festival stretches the festival concept through an interaction of space, performance and audience in a unique cultural experience.
NORDLYS (Northern Light) is a collective of artists from Denmark, Sweden Norway, and Finland. They will stage their successful walking performances where the audience moves with them and within the venue in an exploration of bodily, emotional and spatial relationships.

Roeder Camanag leads all-male cast in 'Ang Dressing Room'


Multi-awarded actor and director Roeder Camanag is set to lead an all-male cast to act as females in Dulaang UP’s “Ang Dressing Room: Kung Saan Lubusang Pangungulila Ang Dulot Ng Agos Ng Panahon”—a 1977 post-war Japanese play by Shimizu Kunio, translation adapted by Chiori Miyagawa from an original translation by John Gillespie and its Filipino translation by Palanca award winning playwright Nicolas Pichay under the direction of Alexander Cortez.

As the National Arts Month closes, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila is also closing one of its most successful exhibitions for 2015, “BenCab: The Filipino Artist” which is now on its final week at the MET. The retrospective exhibition features a broad spectrum of the National Artist’s work spanning from 1965 to 2015.
