Premier Art Fair returns to Hong Kong, opens this weekend March 24

HONG KONG - Fifty galleries from across 15 nations will be taking part at the Premier Art Fair 2017. A hotel-based art fair, 50 guest rooms of Excelsior Hotel in Causeway Bay will serve as unique individual spaces for over 1,500 artworks from around 300 artists.
Artworks come in different sizes and range from HKD 2,000 to 200,000. Art lovers are sure to enjoy browsing through each piece whether it be a painting, contemporary art, pop art, mixed media, photography, or sculpture.

The Premier Art Fair committee have arranged a VIP lounge and will serve free wine and champagne on the opening day. Visitors interested in purchasing art works will have a cozy rest area where they can ask more about the piece and the artist.

Premier Art Fair was first held in Vietnam in 2011. It first held a show in Hong Kong in 2013 and has since staged in Singapore in 2014 and 2015.

"Hong Kong is in the center of Asia," says Premier Art Fair Director Tomy Kim. "Thus, there is a good geographical advantage for galleries and artists to participate in Asia and Europe. Especially for the galleries and artists from Europe and the West, Hong Kong is less inclined to reject any sense of heterogeneity."

"This is also due to the coexistence of British culture for a long time. It is thought that Hong Kong is the center of culture where the culture of the East and the West has been mixed and developed properly. I hope that the role of Hong Kong will grow as an art market", he adds.
